Edmund, we had so much fun when we were younger, walking back and forth from the Bramfield school. Mom always worried about us and I’m sure we gave her a few grey hairs. I missed you so much when you went off to sea. When I married Dick, and moved to the United States, you always managed to call me when you were in port. You have now started on another adventure. The most wonderful one that we all hope to take one day. We know you must be enjoying Heaven and looking down on us. One day we will see you again. Until then, all of our love goes with you.
Your sister, Anita

Think of me when I have passed
Far from your reaching hand,
A breath of air, a fleeting glance
A time beyond this land.
When all that lies between us
Are memories, thoughts and dreams,
A vision of our closeness,
We were never parted it seems.
Hold me closely in your heart,
For time slips away so fast,
And soon the dust has settled
And love is all that lasts.
